12 Days to go to the Global Day of Prayer!

10 Days of Community Prayer

The Global Day of Prayer which takes place on 23rd May this year is very unique in the Christian calendars, as the Eastern Orthodox tradition of “Kneeling Day” and the Western tradition of “Pentecost Sunday” converge on the same day. Thus the 10 year celebration of the GDOP is very significant in that many hundreds of millions of Christians globally will kneel simultaneously in a day of repentance and united prayer before God, trusting for the glory of God to cover the earth as the waters cover the sea. (Hab. 2v14)

The 10 Days preceding the Global Day of Prayer (13- 22 May) creates an excellent opportunity to unite in prayer with millions of Christians around the globe, based on Acts chpt 1 and 2. The 10 Days help us to build a lifestyle of prayer in our communities, as well as focus our prayers much wider than our personal needs. We encourage you to go to the website www.gdop-sa.com and download the 10 Day Prayer Guide and the World Prayer, so that you and the churches/ministries in your community can get actively involved.

To date 215 nations and over 400 hundred cities/towns/townships in SA have registered for GDOP this year. With the soccer world cup less than a month away and hundreds of thousands of visitors coming, we need to saturate our nation with faith filled, expectant prayer. This is not the time for complacency and indifference – it is the time for the ‘Church’ to rise up and, through the power of prayer, change the spiritual climate in our nation. Make sure you become a ‘mover and shaker’ in the Kingdom!

It is still not too late to register for the Global Day of Prayer International Conference that will take place next week in Cape Town. If you want more information go to the website www.gdop2010.com

Thank you for your continued and valued partnership with us – we do so appreciate it.

May God richly bless and prosper you and your family.
